Third Clean for the Queen

Local residents are being asked to put on their gardening gloves and come and help in the third Congleton Community-wide Clean for the Queen and In Bloom event on Saturday 4th June.

With the warmer weather the In Bloom team is hoping that even more people will get involved in this latest clean-up – which is going to concentrate on weeding some of the areas that aren’t high priority for either Cheshire East Highways or the Town Council Streetscape team. There will also be some litter picking. Anyone able to help is asked to come to the Town Council gazebo in the Community Garden in Lawton Street between 10am – 12 noon on Saturday 4th June.

In Bloom team member, Cllr Glen Williams said: “Congleton businesses and residents have been great getting behind the Congleton in Bloom efforts, and it really does lift the town. There’s always lots to be done – as people will know from their own gardens – but many hands make light work and if lots of people come forward to help we can make some great improvements.

Volunteers are advised to wear clothing appropriate to anticipated weather conditions and sensible footwear. Everything else – high-visibility vests, litter pickers, sacks and gloves are provided. If you are not able to help on the day, but can volunteer time at other times to help with the Congleton in Bloom efforts please contact Ruth on rb@congletontowncouncil.co.uk  or tel 01260 270350.
