Successful Weekend of Sunflowers and Volunteers

IMG_0671 (002)Congleton In Bloom would like to say thank you to all who planted sunflowers or volunteered for In Bloom.

A successful cold and sunny Saturday 16th April saw children planting sunflowers and adults signing up to help Congleton’s in Bloom activities this summer. The Congleton in Bloom team joined forces with staff from SAS Daniels Solicitors to plant up and sign up volunteers.

A steady stream of young visitors resulted in numerous sunflowers being planted which were taken home to grow for this summer. The team were also delighted to sign up some more volunteers to help with the town’s efforts to get gold in Britain in Bloom.

The next planned volunteer activities are:

  • Canal and Railway Work Party – meet Friday 22 April 10am Queen’s Head Car Park- all welcome (from May the group will meet on the fourth Thursday of the month at 10am)
  • Children’s Tub Plant up– Saturday 14th May 10am – invitations through the primary schools
  • Town Tidy– Saturday 4th June time to be confirmed
