Remembrance Sunday 2025

Congleton will come together on Sunday 9 November to honour those who gave their lives in service. The event is organised by Congleton Town Council and the Congleton Branch of the Royal British Legion (RBL), and the whole community is warmly invited to join this important occasion.

The parade will assemble at West Street Car Park from 10.00am, leaving promptly at 10.30am. The procession will travel along West Street, Swan Bank, the pedestrian area, High Street, and Market Square, before arriving at the Cenotaph on Lawton Street.

At 11.00am, Rev. Ian Enticott of All Saints Congleton will lead the service of remembrance, including the laying of poppy wreaths. For wreath enquiries, please contact William Brownlee, RBL, at willieandviv@hotmail.com or 07774 766 8363.

Following the service, a reception at the Town Hall will be held for invited guests only.

To ensure the parade can march safely to the Cenotaph, rolling 15-minute road closures will be in place. In addition, full road closures will operate on High Street, Canal Street, Kinsey Street, Bank Street, and Market Square from 10.00am–12.30pm.

The Town Council and RBL thank residents for their support and cooperation in marking this day of remembrance.
