Local residents are being urged to get on-line and book their spaces if they wish to enjoy time this summer at the much-loved Congleton Paddling Pool.
Town Mayor, Cllr Denis Murphy, expressed delight and relief that all the technical and practical issues had been resolved and the pool can open on Monday 16th August.
New for this year, entry to the pool will only be via a free down loadable ticket. Tickets can be downloaded from Congleton Town Council’s website and will be released a week in advance. There will be 140 tickets for each session. Sessions are from 10am – 1pm and 2pm – 6pm and everyone entering the pool area will need a booked place, including babies and toddlers. A person can download a maximum of 8 tickets whilst available and will be restricted to one session a week.
Town Mayor, Cllr Denis Murphy, said: “We are delighted to finally be in a position to open our much-loved Congleton Paddling Pool. It’s been a difficult time and I must thank the staff who have completed the training, tracked down the parts for the pool room, introduced new systems to meet safety requirement and have remained determined that the pool would be able to open.”
The new booking system is similar to that introduced in Northwich, where the system has worked well and led to an avoidance of queues where everyone booked into a session can turn up at anytime during that session knowing that they are guaranteed a place.
Anyone who books a session and then changes their mind is asked to cancel the spaces so that it can be offered to people on the waiting list, this will also allow the person to book an alternative available session.
The plan is to open the pool seven days a week from the 16th August until the 12thSeptember.
