New Events & Catering Team

It’s all change at the Congleton Town Hall with both a new Chief Officer and a new Events and Catering Team appointed.

Congleton Town Council welcomed David McGifford into post as the new Chief Officer at the start of January. Mr McGifford replaces Brian Hogan who will retire in January after more than six years’ service. Posh Nosh Parties who ran the town hall catering and events and Delacey’s Brasserie have also chosen to retire, and after a lengthy process the Town Council has approved a new partnership, known as Congleton Town Hall Events and Parties to take over the events and catering at the Town Hall. Legal contracts are being drawn up.

At the helm of the new events and catering partnership are Annette Kanauros, Joe Kanauros and Becky Lawton. The three already have a great reputation for the successful InsideOut Catering company and Reubens 46 restaurant in Lawton Street. The new team will manage the in-house catering immediately and will take up occupancy from the 1st March.

Becky Lawton, one of the partners of the new business said: “We are very excited about this new venture. The Town Hall is a beautiful building at the centre of the community that we feel is sometimes overlooked. We are thrilled to be taking over during the 150th anniversary year of the building and will be working hard to show people its versatility and relevance to our community. We are also looking forward to putting our own stamp on what was the brasserie including putting in place monthly community meets.”

Congleton Town Mayor, Councillor Elizabeth Wardlaw added: “We are looking forward to working with the Congleton Town Hall Events and Parties team and believe they will add new life to the Town Hall.  The team impressed us with their energy, enthusiasm, ideas, commitment to quality, strength of their team and business plan.”

Congleton Town Council hires out three rooms in the Town Hall and can cater for meetings, functions and events from two to 250 people. Room hire starts at just £15 per hour for the Spencer Suite. Anyone interested in booking the Town Hall should call Congleton Town Council on 01260 270350 ext 6
