Get involved in Congleton Carnival

Carnival comes to Congleton from 11th- 13th July – and the organising team are planning that this year will be even bigger than in 2012! There’s still time for you to enter a float, have a stall on the field or just plan for a great weekend in Congleton!

The festivities will begin on Friday 11th July with ‘Holler’ musical event on Hankinson’s field. Many top local acts have already signed up. Tickets will be priced just £5 and the full line up will be announced nearer the time.

Saturday is Carnival Day! The procession will start at 11am from Bromley Road – this will include floats, bands, dancers, people in fancy dress, vintage cars, bikes and much more – all with a 70s theme! The procession will make its way through the town and to the Park where there will be stalls, food and drink, fair rides, entertainment and lots of fun for all ages! In the evening the Party in the Park has some top tribute bands from the 70s  – tickets will be sold via the Tourist Information Centre and at other venues.

Carnival continues for an extra day – with Congleton hosting  ‘It’s a Knockout’ in the Park on Sunday 13 July. You can join in the fun of watching teams tackling some challenging obstacles with plenty of water and foam involved – if you are interested in putting a team into It’s a Knockout email carnival@congletontowncouncil.co.uk

If you would like to join in the procession, have a stall at the Park, find out more about It’s a Knockout or offer your services to help on the day or in advance please give your name, address, contacts and details about your idea to Congleton Tourist Information Centre in Congleton Town Hall or email carnival@congletontowncouncil.co.uk  or check out CongletonCarnival on facebook.
