Congleton Town Council is inviting volunteers, both new and experienced, to a special evening dedicated to those interested in helping at this year’s highly anticipated Food & Drink Festival. The event, which draws thousands of visitors, simply wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of volunteers who ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
The volunteer meeting will take place on Tuesday 4 February at 5.30pm-7pm in the Town Hall. Attendees can drop in anytime between 5.30pm-7pm to learn about a wide range of roles, from marshalling and litter picking to general event support. Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, there’s a role for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Joining the town council volunteer team is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting event, meet new people, and give back to the community.
Rachel McCarthy, Town Centre and Events Officer, said: “The Food & Drink Festival is one of the highlights of Congleton’s calendar, and we couldn’t do it without our volunteers. Whether you’re a seasoned helper or completely new to volunteering, we’d love to have you on board. It’s a rewarding experience and a chance to be part of something truly special for the town.”
The much-loved Congleton Food & Drink Festival returns on Sunday 8 June from 10.30am-4.30pm, marking an exciting new chapter as Congleton Town Council takes on its management. This flagship event, previously organised by Congleton Community Projects under the leadership of Jo Money, has been a staple of the town’s cultural scene for the past 15 years. The town council extends its heartfelt thanks to Jo and her team for their dedication in making the festival a resounding success.
With a high standard already set, the council is committed to delivering an unforgettable gastronomic experience, featuring the finest local produce, mouthwatering street food, live music, and entertainment.
