Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre- October Half Term 2018

Saturday 20th October – Friday 2nd November
Telescope Walks- Join a walk around the base of the Lovell Telescope and find out more about how the Grade 1 Telescope works, its history and some of its ground-breaking research. Tours 12.15pm (weekends) and 2.45pm & 3.45pm (weekdays), tour lasts around 45 minutes and are suitable for ages 10+, free with general admission.
Live Science Shows- “The Sky is Not Your Limit!” Find out about the new European Mars Rover mission. see how Scientists and Engineers are creating and launching the new James Webb Space Telescope to look deep into space. Interactive Science Shows daily; 10.30am, 11.30am and 2.30pm, lasting 30-45 minutes and is suitable for ages 7+. Shows are free with general admission. Part of Destination Space.
Monday 22nd – Friday 26th October
Journey Through the Solar System- Have you ever wanted to explore space? Come along and meet the Jodrell Bank team in the Clockwork Orrery for a journey through the Solar System. Sessions at 10.45am and 11.45am, lasting around 20 minutes and are suitable for ages 7 years and under, free with general admission.
Monday 22nd October – Friday 2nd November
Meet the Expert- from 1.00pm, a chance to meet one of the resident and astronomy experts, find out about their work and knowledge of Jodrell Bank. All ages welcome, free with general admission.
Monday 29th October – Friday 2nd November
Autumn Fest- Between 11.30am – 3.30pm- Join the Jodrell Bank Gardens team for a special autumn celebration; make your own autumn crown or have a go at weaving a cosmic web. Activities are available on a drop-in basis and are free with general admission, suitable for all ages.
