Eat, drink, dance and be merry!

On Friday 30 September, Congleton Town Council is hosting a marvellous Medieval Banquet as part of Congleton’s 750th Charter Year celebrations. The evening of fun, feast and festivities will be held in the historic Town Hall at 7pm.

Congleton Town Mayor, Cllr Margaret Gartside said: “It promises to be memorable evening, Lords and Ladies will be transported back in time to 1272 when Congleton was granted it’s first Charter by Henry de Lacy. The Town Hall will be dressed in Medieval splendour and guests will be greeted with a complimentary arrival drink before digging into a sumptuous feast. Cocktails of mead, beer and wine will be flowing available to purchase from the bar.

There will be entertainment throughout the night with live music and dancing provided by Albireo, one of the top ceilidh bands in the North West, plus a charity raffle. Medieval costume dress is encouraged however this is optional! We hope as many Congletonians as possible can join us for a night of mirth, merriment and festivities.”

Trestle tables will be laid to cater for large groups or smaller parties to sit together. Everybody welcome!

The event is expected to be a sell out – miss it at your peril! There are still tickets available priced at just £32 from the Congleton Information Centre. Tel: 01260 270350 ext 1 or email: info@congleton-tc.gov.uk. The banquet is strictly over 18 years only.
