Charity Stalls

Christmas is a time for giving! Local charities and organisations will set up their stalls in the Town Hall this year to raise funds for their groups or organisations. The groups enter into the Christmas spirit, wearing Santa hats  and Christmas jumpers and put on some fun and fundraising activities.

Stage Entertainment

The Christmas Crackers team are currently organising a full day programme of entertainment for the stage- the programme is due to start at 12.00 noon and will be made up of brass bands, choirs, school choirs, dance troupes, local magician Nick Barnes and much more! Also watch out for our Street Entertainment, Christmas lit stilt walkers will be out on the day. If you would like to have a slot on the day, or on a December weekend leading up to Christmas in the Town Centre, click here to enquire.

Lantern Procession & Workshops

The Grand Lantern Procession will meet at Back Park Street car park (at the back of Carter House) at 5.00pm and make its way to the top of Lawton Street where the parade will form and set-off at 5.05pm. Santa will be picked up in his Sleigh along the way, with a crowd of lit lanterns following behind. The whole procession will be led by Northenden Pipe Band. The procession will make its way down Lawton Street and onto the High Street, stopping at the bottom of Canal Street where the group will split; Santa in his sleigh will travel along the High Street led by half of the band, whilst the other half of the band and all of the lanterns will light up Chapel Street and come down Moody Street, to make for an extra long procession. Both halves of the procession will meet at the stage area in time for the Christmas songs and countdown for the Big Switch-On and Fireworks Display.
