Congleton Town Council is proud to recognise long-serving local businesses through its High Street Awards Scheme, an initiative that celebrates companies—whether independent or national—that have demonstrated lasting commitment to the local community with a strong presence in Congleton’s town centre or shopping parades.
Congleton Town Mayor Cllr Robert Brittain had the pleasure of presenting Crema Deli, located at 5 Bridge Street, with a 10 Year Award in honour of its service since opening in 2013. The award includes a commemorative certificate and a window sticker to mark the achievement.
Crema Deli, run by husband-and-wife team Kevin and Rebecca Aksul, is known for its inviting blend of delicious aromas and authentic tastes—offering high-quality cheeses, meats, olives, salads, fresh bread, and a popular coffee menu for both dine-in and takeaway customers. Despite increased competition from the growing number of new coffee houses on the high street, the couple has continued to build on their strengths, delivering top-notch homemade food and exceptional customer service.
Mayor Cllr Robert Brittain praised their contribution, stating: “Crema Deli is a fantastic example of what makes Congleton’s high street so special—quality food, warm service, and long-standing dedication to the community. We’re proud to celebrate their 10 years of success and continued commitment.”
Rebecca Aksul, co-owner of Crema Deli, said: “We’re incredibly proud of this recognition. Our team—many of whom have been with us longer than we’ve owned the shop—are the real stars. We’re grateful to our loyal customers and look forward to continuing to serve them the best food and coffee in town.”
Crema Deli was nominated for the award by a regular customer, who shared: “My wife and I always enjoy our Tuesday morning coffee at Crema. The staff are wonderful—friendly, helpful, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The quality of the deli goods is excellent.”
Congleton Town Council congratulates Kevin, Rebecca, and the entire Crema Deli team on this well-earned milestone.
Residents are encouraged to nominate their favourite long-standing businesses, that:
