Congleton Town Mayor 2020/21

At Congleton Town Council’s first virtual Council meeting on Thursday 28th May, it was voted that the roles of Town Mayor and Deputy Town Mayor will stay the same through til May 2021. Cllr Sally Ann Holland will remain as Town Mayor and Cllr Denis Murphy as Deputy Town Mayor.

Carrying on into the new civic year will be Dave Holland as the Mayor’s Consort, Eloise Williams from Congleton West Rangers Unit as the Mayor’s Cadet and Rev Andrew Lindley as the Mayor’s Chaplain who preaches at Rood Lane Methodist Chapel and Wellspring Church and was the founder of Congleton Street Pastors. Councillor Denis Murphy appointed Joan Myatt as his Consort for 2019/20 and this will also remain the same through to May 2021.

Continuing Mayor, Cllr Sally Ann Holland said “I am honoured to be staying on as the Mayor of Congleton for another year. Since the middle of March a lot of the civic events I would have attended or organised have had to be cancelled and so hopefully as we start to get back to a ‘new normal’ these are events that I would like to progress with when safe to do so. I look forward in continuing to represent the town.”

Cllr Holland will still be raising funds for various Congleton-based charities, but is predominately on Visyon and the League of Friends for Congleton and Macclesfield Hospital. Visyon offers support for young people who experience all forms of mental health based issues and anxiety. The League of Friends offer support to Congleton and Macclesfield hospitals.
