Congleton Play Day 2018

Congleton’s first Play Day in the town centre

On Tuesday August 14th Congleton Town Centre from 10am-2pm will be hosting its first free Play Day in the Pedestrian Area and Moody Street Garden. The day is part of National Play Day, a celebration of children’s right to play and highlights the importance of play and fun in children’s lives.

Activities will include Hoolah hooping, hopscotch, giant Connex and other board games which have been kindly lent by Bromley Farm Community Centre. The Cycling Campaign are providing a bike doctor so bring your bike down and have it checked over and Health Box are providing the opportunity to have a go at powering a bike enough to make a smoothie.

There will be general arts and crafts activities for active minds organised by the Electric Picture House, including den building and we will be promoting the Summer Reading challenge for Mischief Makers and offering storytime at 11.30am-12 up by Peacocks.

Playing needs to start as young as possible and so for toddlers there will be activities in Moody St Garden organised by Kids Planet, yoga for tots in Wild and Wild and a soft play area from Go Bananas for crawling babies.

Chrome Fitness, and will be organising fitness activities for all ages and Jo-anne Bayley School of Dance will be offering fitness dance classes at 11am,12pm,and 1pm on the space above Woollies Wall

The event has been organised by Congleton Community Projects and Health Box and will also be promoting the new Play Area leaflet which shows where all 12 designated play areas are to be found around Congleton as well as all the other open spaces and Connected Community venues in the town where kids and families can play.
