Congleton Celebrates In Bloom Success

Around 120 people turned out to help celebrate another fabulous season of regional and local success for the Congleton in Bloom team in 2019 at an award ceremony held in the Town Hall on the 13th November. In Bloomers from across the town and from all generations were thanked and praised for efforts that culminated in 12 awards for the town.

In addition to acknowledging the 8 awards and neighbourhoods and the 4 for the town and park, the night also highlighted the success of the 2019 Wheelbarrow Challenge and all those who took part in the 6th Back to Back gardens, celebrating birds. As well as thanking the volunteers, sponsors and supporting shops and businesses.

Following the success of this year’s campaign, Congleton has been nominated to represent the North West in the National Britain in Bloom finals. The town won’t find out if its nomination has been accepted until February, but already the team is planning for 2020. A spokesperson for the group said: “Congleton in Bloom has been improving Congleton for 21 years. It has a fabulous network of supporters and the door is always open for more people to join in and to contribute to their town. We are keen to hear from people who would like to get involved or have ideas to further improve Congleton. In Bloom is about community involvement, environmental responsibility and horticultural excellence.
