Book your Christmas Stalls

Local charities and traders are urged to book their stalls for Congleton’s Christmas lights switch-on now to avoid disappointment. The Congleton Christmas Lights Festive Fayre will take place on Friday 28th November from 4-7pm and will attract thousands of people into the town centre. As with previous years there will be 28 outdoor charity stalls available for local groups and charities to hire. The groups should be CW12 based or benefit CW12 residents. The charity pitches are subsidised by the Congleton Town Council and cost just £15 each. This includes the cost of the gazebo, table and lighting. Funds raised on the stall are kept by the local charity. These stalls will be on the pedestrian area. There are also 28 pitches available in the Town Hall for the popular Quality Christmas Gift and Craft Fayre,

which is held on the evening of the lights switch-on. Stalls inside the Town Hall cost £25 each.  This year the Christmas Switch-on will be different – a return to traditional market town festivities. Santa has decided to come into town on his sleigh pulled by his own reindeers and will lead the traditional Grand Lantern Parade then children will be able to visit him in his special town centre grotto. There will be street entertainment, a range of great street food and festive attractions throughout the town centre rather than the evening focussing on a main stage show. For more information or to book a charity stall or a craft/gift stall contact Sue Trow at Congleton Town Council on 01260 270350 ext 6. Stalls will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis. For the charity stalls preference will be given to groups working in and benefiting CW12 residents. With the craft fayre the organisers will ensure a wide variety of stalls by limiting the number of similar stalls. Public lantern making workshops will be held at the Electric Picture House, Cross Street on Saturdays 8th/15th and 22nd.
