Heroes Wanted- Clean Up PosterCould you be a local hero? Congleton In Bloom is calling all would be local heroes to help clean up Congleton! Anyone up for the task is asked to gather at New Life Church car park on West Road at 10am on Saturday 6th May. The heroes clean-up will last from 10.00am – 12.00 noon.

Volunteers can do as little or as much as they want during this time. There will be a mixture of activities from litter picking to pruning and weeding. There will also be an opportunity to try your hand at dog fouling stencilling on the footpaths.

Those joining in are advised to wear clothing appropriate to anticipated weather conditions and sensible footwear. Everything else, high-visibility vests, litter pickers, sacks, gloves and all equipment will be provided. The Congleton In Bloom team are trying to get as many members of the public to tidy up as possible.

Chairman of the Congleton In Bloom committee Cllr David Brown said “There was a great turnout at the first “Congleton’s Big Spring Clean” in March, with the volunteers collecting over 20 sacks of litter. The Great British Spring Clean- a campaign led by Keep Britain Tidy- is about getting all those people who care about their environment to take action, the Congleton In Bloom team has signed up to this initiative and will be organising monthly cleans at different locations around Congleton to create a cleaner, greener Congleton!”
