From December 2nd, as retail starts to re-open, it will be possible to obtain your personal star for the Congleton Tree of Light from the Visitor Information Centre at Congleton Town Hall in the High Street. Opening times are weekdays from 9am – 4pm, closed for lunch from 12.30 – 1.15pm and Saturdays open from 10am – 2pm.
Stars have been available online during the lockdown, but several people have expressed a personal preference to write their own message in memory of their loved one, or distant friends that they cannot be with at Christmas.
Stars purchased from the Visitor Information Centre at the Town Hall can be left in a post box and will be placed around the tree.
The tree will come to life on December 5th, when it will be lit – and remain alight – throughout the festive season. The first batch of stars will be placed around the tree. Stars will still be available until just before Christmas.
Allens Newsagents (Wow Portraits) on Bridge Street have been open throughout for the sale of stars as so too have the funeral companies, albeit with limited access to their premises.

The Tree of Light is organised and promoted by Congleton Rotary Club, with support from Congleton Town Council and The William Dean Trust. Proceeds from the sale of stars are all used for the benefit of Rotary good causes.
