Limited tickets available for the Living History Exhibition

Congleton Town Hall – Monday 11th 7-9pm

On July 11th it will be exactly 150 years since Congleton Town Hall opened its doors. In celebration to this, the Town Hall becomes host to a three day Living History Exhibition. On the actual anniversary- Monday 11th July from 7.00pm – 9.00pm, members of the public are invited to come and visit the Town Hall and be taken back to 1866. The exhibition will be led by costumed interpreters of the period, showcasing the living conditions from 150 years ago. There will also be a talk from Victorian Entertainer Tony Liddington on aspects of Victorian Pastimes.

Cllr. Suzie Akers-Smith, Chairman of the 150 Year Celebrations group said “By the end of the event visitors from 2016 will have a very good understanding of how different their lives would have been in Congleton in 1866. We don’t want to give too much away but there are some great surprises in store. ”

Tickets for the Monday evening; £3.50 per ticket, with drink included in the price are available from Congleton Tourist Information Centre, tel: 01260 271095 or email: info@congletontowncouncil.co.uk for further details on the event.
