The much-loved Congleton Paddling Pool opened it’s gates for 2022 on Saturday 28 May. The pool will be open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday and closed on a Monday and Tuesday with the option of a morning session (10am – 1pm) or an afternoon session (2pm – 5pm).
The booking system will be the same as the online one introduced last year. Visitors will need to book their free spaces in advance by scanning the QR code (see below) or via the town council website.
Tickets will be released daily a week in advance. Cut-off for same day bookings is 8am for mid week sessions and 10am close every Friday for sessions on a Saturday and Sunday. There will be 140 tickets for each session and everyone entering the pool area will need a booked place, including babies and toddlers. A person can download a maximum of 8 tickets and will be restricted to one session a week. The facility is designed for children aged 11 years and under and all children must be accompanied by an adult.
Congleton Town Mayor, Cllr Margaret Gartside said: “The online booking system worked well last year and led to an avoidance of queues. Everyone who booked a ticket knew they were guaranteed a place and plenty of space to enjoy the pool comfortably. The Paddling Pool has been enjoyed by families with young children for many decades and we hope that the 2022 summer season will be just as successful!”
Anyone who books a session and then changes their mind is asked to cancel the spaces so that it can be offered to people on the waiting list, this will also allow the person to book an alternative available session.
Visitors driving to the facility, are reminded to be respectful of local residents and to remember that Daneside Theatre car park is a private car park and cannot be used for the pool. Town Centre car parks are just a short walk from the pool and park.
