Last Chance…

Congleton Town Council is reminding residents and workers that the consultation on the town’s Draft Neighbourhood Plan closes on 9 December 2024. This is a vital opportunity to ensure your voice is heard on the policies that will shape the town’s future, protect its heritage and green spaces, and influence planning decisions for years to come.

The Neighbourhood Plan, if adopted, will be a powerful tool to protect Congleton from inappropriate development and ensure that the community’s aspirations are considered in planning decisions. Whether it’s safeguarding green spaces or advocating for facilities for the town, this is your chance to help define the vision for Congleton.

Congleton’s Town Mayor, Cllr Kay Wesley, stressed the importance of participation:
“I am delighted that over 400 residents have already contributed their feedback—thank you for playing your part. However, we know there are many more residents and workers in Congleton with valuable ideas and strong opinions about what our town needs. This is your chance to have your say and help shape Congleton’s future. Don’t miss this important opportunity to be heard!”

The consultation includes 28 draft policies covering areas such as housing, employment, infrastructure, heritage, and green spaces. Participants can provide feedback on all the policies or focus on the ones they feel most passionate about. The plan is available online at: www.CongletonNeighbourhoodPlan.co.uk, as well paper copies in the Congleton Information Centre, and the library.

As an incentive to get involved, the Town Council will reward three random participants with prizes of £100, £50, and £40. To enter, simply provide your contact details at the end of the consultation questionnaire.

Don’t miss out! Have your say before 9 December and help ensure that Congleton’s Neighbourhood Plan reflects the community’s vision and priorities. Visit: www.CongletonNeighbourhoodPlan.co.uk to take part, or contact the Town Council for assistance.
