Accessibility Guide – Congleton Food & Drink Festival

🛑 Road Closures

For pedestrian safety, the following roads will be closed to traffic from 6am-6pm during the event:

  • Mill Street
  • Swan Bank
  • High Street
  • Top of Market Street

🚗 Accessible Parking

10 extra temporary disabled parking spaces are available at the top of Mill Street. Bookable in advance, there may be availability on the day. Blue badge must be shown.
Permanent disabled parking spaces are also available at:

  • Fairground Car Park (CW12 1BP) 6 Spaces
  • Antrobus Street car park (CW12 1HB) 2 Spaces
  • West Street Car Park (CW12 1JR) 4 Spaces
  • Princess Street Car Park (CW12 1DF) 2 Spaces

🧘 Quiet Zone

For those who need a break from the festival environment, a designated Quiet Zone is available inside ‘The Space’ at the TMC building.

🚻 Toilets

  • Accessible toilets and step-free access are available at Congleton Town Hall.
  • Additional toilets are located on Market Street.
  • Many open venues around the town also have toilet facilities.

🪑 Seating Areas

Extra seating will be available in the form of picnic benches at:

  • Market Street
  • Swan Bank

👣 Navigating the Festival

  • The main festival takes place outdoors on the pedestrianised area and High Street.
  • Please note: Some areas may have uneven surfaces.
  • Drop kerbs and walkways will be kept clear wherever possible to ensure easy access.
  • If you need any help, please speak to an event marshal – they’ll be wearing hi-vis clothing and purple lanyards.

🎶 Noise Levels

  • There will be live music throughout the day.
  • The loudest area is likely to be near Higher Ground Café in the centre
  • Quieter areas can be found around the edges of the festival zone or in the Quiet Zone.

⏰ Busy and Quieter Times

  • The festival will be busiest between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM.
  • Quieter times are expected:
    • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
    • 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM

🧍‍♂️ Information Point & Lost Child Point

For general assistance, visit the Information Point at Congleton Town Hall.
The Lost Child Point will also be located here. If you become separated from a child or find a lost child, please notify a marshal or head to the Town Hall immediately.
