Congleton’s Medieval Banquet

On Friday 21st September from 7.00pm, Congleton Town Hall is hosting a Medieval Banquet as part of the celebrations commemorating 700 Years of Mayoralty in Congleton.

There will be a Medieval themed food on trestle tables, named after famous medieval characters good for a group to sit together, for the table plan and timings of the evening, click here. For the details of the menu for the evening, click here.

There will be Ceilidh dancing by The Shipsters a cutting edge Ceilidh band or watch them here for a taste of what will happen in the evening.

The Town Hall will be dressed with Medieval style wall hangings which would have been common, many of them named after pubs, and there will be a Medieval pub quiz themed around the titles of the hangings:

The White Horse, The White Hart, Prince of Wales Feathers, The Chequer Boa, The Ship, The Elephant and Castle, The Star and Eagle, The Cross Keys, The Red Lion, The Beehive, The Sun in Splendour ,The Crown and Mitre, The Tabard, The Castle.

We have created a Medieval selfie station and there will be entertainment throughout the night.  Be prepared for an evening of fun, feast and festivities to help celebrate the history of Congleton. Medieval dress is optional.
