Congleton shops compete to have the ‘Best Jubilee Window’

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Congleton businesses are busy getting their windows ready to participate in the ‘Best Jubilee Window’ competition being run by Congleton Town Council.

Many shops have got into the spirit of things with some fabulous eye-catching displays. Windows will be turned red, white and blue tomark the Queen’s 70th year on the throne. Judging will take place on Friday 27 May 2022.

Rachel McCarthy from Congleton Town Council said: “We would like to thank all the traders that have entered the competition, the standard is exceptionally high for her Majesty. We certainly have some creative businesses in town! The colourful windows will definitely put a smile on shoppers faces, I hope everyone will come into town and see for themselves! Take a picture of your favourite window and share on social media with #Congletonjubilee.”

The winners will be announced before the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration in Congleton Park on Thursday 2 June. With £70 worth of cash prizes up for grabs.

Congleton is getting dressed to impress not only for the Queens’s Jubilee but for the 750th Charter year celebrations. See the magnificent hand painted heraldic flags above shops, medieval bunting, and banners along Mountbatten Way.
