Congleton In Bloom Clean-Up- June Dates

Calling all green-fingered and handy volunteers! Congleton In Bloom joint with the Friends of Congleton Park group have dates set for Congleton clean-up sessions. Meeting in Congleton Park on both Saturday 2nd June and Saturday 9th June from 10am-12noon, there is a variety of activities to join in with.

Volunteers can do as little or as much as they want during this time, some of the activities include: painting the park benches, cleaning the bins, lighting columns, railings, signs and fountains, removing debris from around the benches and bins, installing no litter and dog fouling signs and posters in appropriate, and visible places, litter picking and weeding.

Those joining in are advised to wear clothing appropriate to anticipated weather conditions and sensible footwear. Everything else; Hi-Viz vests, litter pickers, sacks, gloves and all equipment will be provided. The Congleton In Bloom team are trying to get as many members of the public to help clean up as possible.

Congleton Town Tidy Champion Glen Williams said “The In Bloom and Friends of Congleton Park groups look forward to welcoming new and existing volunteers to the clean-up sessions. We have decided that Congleton Park is a great open space with opportunity for volunteers to work perfecting the finer details of the park, such as painting the benches, but it also gives a chance to work further afield outside of the park, weeding and litter picking the entrances in. With the Congleton In Bloom team and the Friends of Congleton Park team working together, it will help to achieve the goal of making Congleton a cleaner and greener place to live, work and visit!”
