Congleton Christmas Booklet

In this booklet we have tried to capture the essence of Christmas in Congleton. We’ve endeavoured to cover it all, but it’s a busy town with lots going on, if you tell us about anything we have missed, we’ll be sure to add it on the “What’s On” Calendar- Click here for the booklet.

Christmas Stalls in the Town Hall

We have some fabulous stalls in the quality gift and craft fayre! Be sure to make time to explore the many stalls to discover some great treats and fantastic potential gifts (for yourself or a loved one!) The Fayre is open from 4pm – 7.30pm and is free entry. Please respect the one-way system put in place to manage the crowds! Eric Newton will be playing in the hall by the Christmas tree. The Town Hall events and catering team will be serviing a range of hot and cold drinks and some tasty treats.

Charity and Organisation Stalls

Christmas is a time for giving! The Christmas Crackers group subsidises stalls for local charity and organisations so that they can use this community event to raise funds for their group or organisation. In the past many groups have really entered into the Christmas spirit wearing Santa hats and putting on some great have a go games and activities. All the stalls have now been allocated. Bookings are taken from the 1st September so don’t miss out for Christmas 2017!!

Food and Drink Stalls

Thanks to the fabulous Congleton Food and Drink Festival good links have already been made with tasty, quality street food traders and so all food slots have been filled for this year. If you are interested in being part of next year’s Food and Drink offering contact Congleton Food and Drink Festival on www.foodanddrinkfestival.net/contact/

Road Closures

In order to protect the public at this great Community Event we have applied for Road Closures. These will come into force at 2pm and will close off the High Street from the top of Market Street – to the Town Hall. Vehicles will not be able to access the High Street from Market Street, Moody Street or Canal Street. There will be normal access to Morrison’s Car Park. The roads will be back open by 9pm at the latest.

Christmas Trees for Shops in Congleton

Thanks to the shops that have purchased Christmas trees – the Town Council is in the process of delivering and erecting 103 small Christmas Trees in Congleton!

Snow Globe

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to have a picture of you and your family or friends in the giant Snow Globe! Picture are being taken from 4 – 7.30pm and cost £8 each – up to 8 people can fit in the globe at a time. All pictures taken are removed from the computer at the end of the evening.

Fair Rides

There will be a couple of smaller children’s rides on the High Street opposite the Town Hall, as well as some larger rides in the fairground car park. The rides on the High Street will close at 7.30pm while the ones on the Fairground car park will continue later into the evening – while people are still enjoying the rides!
