Congleton Paddling Pool opens for the summer this Saturday 27th May

With temperatures set to soar this weekend, Congleton Town Council is expecting record numbers of people to attend the opening day of Congleton Paddling Pool. The popular paddling pool, on Park Road in Congleton, will open for the summer season on Saturday 27th May at 10am. It will then remain open, weather permitting, every day from 10am – 6pm until Sunday 10th September.

Thanks to a £8,000 investment by Congleton Town Council the Paddling Pool looks extra special this year with a new ‘sandy colour’ anti-slip surface around the edge of the pool and a new blue surface to the pool.

The Paddling Pool is run and managed by Congleton Town Council. A Paddling Pool Attendant, who can be clearly identified in their light blue polo shirt, will always be present when the pool is open. The attendants have keys to the toilets and first aid box and are the first point of contact for any queries regarding the pool. The pool is designed for children aged 11 and under and all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Facilities & Development Manager at Congleton Town Council, Chris Jones said: “Congleton Paddling Pool has been enjoyed by families with young children for many decades. It is a great facility and we hope that the summer 2017 season will be just as successful. We ask all users to be respectful of other users and of residents and businesses in the immediate vicinity.”

For safety reasons users are asked not to take food and drink into the water and to make sure that all litter is put in the bins. Bikes, dogs, glass and alcohol are not allowed at the pool. Parents are asked to respect local residents and park in the Town Centre or at the Park if driving to the pool. On-Street parking on much of Park Road is residential only or restricted and the Daneside Theatre Car Park is a private car park and not for use by Paddling Pool users.
