Congleton Partnership and Congleton Town Council have adopted and are promoting a Congleton Town Centre Plan

At the time of writing the plan, it was anticipated that the Town Centre Plan (TCP) would be taken forward by Congleton Borough Council as a statutory Area Action Plan (AAP) and it did not go into detail on delivery and policy issues. However, as a consequence of Local Government re-organisation in which Cheshire East Council will be the principal local authority from April, 2009 and changes to regulations for the preparation of Local Development Documents it has not been possible to progress the document as an AAP in the timescales previously envisaged.

high-street.jpgA draft Delivery Strategy has now been prepared to set out a programme for the delivery of the adopted Congleton Town Centre Plan. The Delivery Strategy explains the key stages and mechanisms involved in taking the TCP forward and provides an indicative timetable, incorporating short, medium and long term milestones in the TCP delivery. The Congleton Partnership would be grateful for any comments which you has in relation to the draft Delivery Strategy. In particular:

  • Do you agree with the proposed approach to the Delivery of The Town Plan?
  • Do you consider that the principles contained within the Congleton Town Plan should be incorporated within the Cheshire East Local Development Framework and if so, how?
