2017 Teddy Bears Picnic- 13th June

Due to damp grounds and forecasted weather of heavy clouds, the picnic will be relocated to Congleton Leisure Centre- same timings of 12.30-2.30pm.

If you go down to Congleton Leisure Centre on Tuesday 13th June you’re sure of a big surprise, because every bear that ever there was, will gather there for certain because, this is the day the Teddy Bears have their picnic!

Teddy Bears, their pre-school owners, parents and guardians are invited to pack a picnic, grab a blanket and join in the FREE fun at Congleton’s Annual Teddy Bears Picnic in Congleton Leisure Centre from 12.30pm-2.30pm.

Teddy Bear owners attending the event can look forward to meeting some life-size bears, they’re very friendly! Activities include; singing and dancing with Tiddly Boppers and mini games from Tumble Tots, as well as StoryTime with Congleton Library and Congleton Children’s Centre will be joining in the fun with their messy play. There will also be a chance to chat with members from the local Ruby’s Fund at their cake stall.

Event organiser Martha Hayes from Congleton Town Council said: “The teddy bears picnic is a fab, fun and free event aimed at bringing together pre-school and nursery children from across the town to have fun and enjoy the beautiful Congleton Park. This year the theme fits in with the Great Get Together in memory of Jo Cox, the Teddy Bears Picnic is acting as a Toddlers Great Get Together for Congleton. We hope that many toddlers and teddy bears turn out to be entertained at the picnic!”.

The picnic is organised by Congleton Town Council, in previous years around 500 people joined in the fun and the organisers are hoping for a similar turnout this year. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult and teddy bear of course.
